APM Reports is joining ProPublica's Documenting Hate project to collect and track information on hate crimes and bias incidents in the United States. These incidents have gone underreported in the past, but the coalition of media organizations and nonprofits that make up Documenting Hate is looking to change that.
Anyone who has been harassed or attacked based on their race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or gender can submit a report through the form below. Information will not be reported to the police or outside sources without your permission, but reporters may follow up with you to investigate the incident and information will be shared with Documenting Hate partner organizations. Witnesses are encouraged to come forward too.
APM Reports continues to be guided by its principles of raising awareness, sparking debate and prompting positive change via non-partisan, independent investigative and documentary journalism. The first step in reporting on prejudice is understanding the breadth of the problem we're trying to cover.
But we can't do it without your help. Please tell us your stories. We understand that sharing such traumatic and intimate details can be difficult, even frightening. Please know that we will treat your stories with great care and respect. We're grateful for the courage it takes to share them. And we hope that your courage will help us bring these hateful acts out of the shadows and into the light.
